Application: Protein Separation in Agarose Gels

MetaPhor® Agarose는 polyacrylamide를 대신해서 사용할 수 있는 고해상도의 agarose로, 중간 수준의 용해 온도 (75°C)를 나타내며, 기존 agarose에 비해 2배 높은 해상도를 가지고 있다. Fast running protocol을 사용하면 20 cm 길이의 수직형 또는 수평형 전기영동을 통해 1.5시간 내에 1% 크기 차이의 DNA 단편을 구분할 수 있다 (예를 들어 200 bp DNA 단편과 204 bp DNA 단편을 분리하는 것이 가능하다).
2~4% MetaPhor® Agarose gel은 4~8% polyacrylamide gel 수준의 해상도를 가져, AMPFLP, STR 분석 및 tri - tetranucleotide repeat 검출에 적합하며, 작은 크기의 PCR 산물을 분석하는 데도 사용할 수 있다.

전기영동 예 - 3.5% MetaPhor® agarose gel

DNA ladders with 4 bp or 8 bp step sizes were prepared by ligation of Bgl II linkers. Aliquots of 0.8 μg of the ladders were separated on a 3.5% MetaPhor® Agarose gel in a horizontal format and compared to an 8% polyacrylamide gel run in a vertical format in TBE buffer.
